Square has a big problem with secondary characters as idols to fan groups, yet we never really see why these groups exist. [...] We are given secondary characters to worship, but we never get the info to make worship as necessary as it is in the world of the characters. We're told that the characters are popular, but in fandom, this often isn't the case.
